Your ABrows Journey

The consultation is always the most important part of your microblading journey. You will be required to complete a health questionnaire to ensure it is safe to do the procedure. We will have a chat about why you want the microblading treatment, as well as making sure that your expectations are realistic!!

I will talk you through the golden ratio – how the shape of your eyebrows will be calculated, as well as the colour, thickness, and length of your brows.

Once this has been discussed and agreed upon, I will apply a patch test to the back of your ear. This is to ensure you do not experience a reaction to the PhiBrows pigment. This must completed at least 24 hours in advance of your treatment.

If you are happy, I’ll book you in for your ABrows appointment!

  • The skin must not be inflamed or in the process of healing
  • Please do not wax, thread or pluck the brow area prior to treatment
  • Clients are kindly requested to not consume caffeine 12 hours prior to the treatment
  • Clients should not consume alcohol or drugs 24 hours prior to the treatment
  • The following treatments are not recommended 30 days before the treatment; botox and fillers, fruit or milk acids/chemical peels, laser treatments, exposure to strong sunlight/UV

The treatment is performed using only the best PhiBrows tools and organic pigments, which are made to the highest standard containing no heavy metals.

With PhiBrows, there is no template or “one size fits all” approach. Each and every person’s face is different – my aim is to compliment your natural features. The shape of your eyebrows are calculated according to the morphology of the face and the golden ratio (1.618) and determined according to your facial proportions. Symmetry is also determined digitally, with your eyes closed, to ensure facial muscles are relaxed.

Once the measurements are complete, the procedure will begin!

The procedure begins with the pigment being applied to the surface layer of the skin (Epidermis) using a sterile tool and strokes are drawn in the direction of the hairs’ natural growth to achieve hyper-realistic and natural results. Although the standard procedure time is between two and four hours, the duration of the eyebrow drawing cannot be determined with certainty.

The level of pain will depend entirely on your pain threshold, your skin type, and other factors such as hormones and premenstrual cycle. Most clients liken the pain to plucking of the eyebrows or a slight cat scratch. Uncomfortable sensations may be felt for the first ‘pass’ then pain relief will be applied to the skin surface.

During the procedure, there may be some minor bleeding. This again depends on your skin structure and medications that you may be on. During and after the treatment, temporary swelling, redness and or itching may occur. Some tenderness may be felt but please be advised that these symptoms are temporary and normal!

During the aftercare and healing phase, it is very important to follow the directions as advised in my after-care kit and only use the provided ointment. This will achieve the best healed results and prevent possible infection or allergic reaction.

How to care for your fresh brows

Yes – your brows will have their very own cleaning regime which you must follow!!

Day 1: Clean with the provided pads 6 times a day using a gentle back and forth motion. Apply a thin layer of ointment after each clean. Apply the provided patches after your final clean, prior to going to bed.

Day 2: Clean with the provided pads 4 times a day and apply a thin layer of ointment after every clean

Days 3-14: Apply thin layers of ointment 1-3 times daily until your brows are no longer dry

Remember… keep your brows dry for 10 days; no sun or sweating for 2 weeks; no makeup or other products on your brow area for 2 weeks!

As long as you follow the post-treatment/aftercare, you can expect the following from your brand-new brows:

Day 1: Your brand-new brows – the strokes will be looking very visible and crisp

Days 2-4: Brows darken, but don’t panic! This is just due to the swelling of the skin and the start of the healing process.

Days 5-7: Following the aftercare, you may notice that some of the strokes will come away on the cotton pads. Again, this is completely normal!

Days 8-14: Ummm, where have your brows gone?! The skin in your brow area will appear pale and the strokes by seem to have disappeared. This is perfectly normal and part of the healing process. The final colour will appear roughly 4 weeks after the procedure, as the skin needs to renew.

Days 15-28: The strokes will gradually reappear as the skin renews and become softer in appearance.

Days 28-42: After 28 days, the healing is complete! I will contact you to book you in for the essential top-up procedure which will perfect the look and rectify any strokes lost.

Your perfect brows are back!

The first top-up treatment is performed 4-8 weeks after the initial treatment. Depending on the skin structure, be aware that the colour intensity may change and may require further chargeable colour refresh treatments outside of the initial treatment and top-up. The pigment is absorbed into the skin differently depending on the skin type, skin quality and internal/external factors.

On average, a colour refresh treatment is carried out every 12 months. For oily skin or exposed skin, a refresh may be required sooner.

Failure to follow the aftercare will result in losing up to 80% of the drawn strokes. So please follow the directions conscientiously!

A deposit of £50 must accompany the booking request. In case of booking cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable unless it is cancelled a minimum of 72 hours prior to the treatment. The client consent form will be completed on consultation and the client agrees to inform the artist should anything change between consultation and treatment, such as Henna tattoos, medical or medication changes.

Treatments are non-refundable and the client accepts to pay for the treatment as discussed in detail during consultation.
