Choosing Your Eye Brow Solution
Microblading vs HD Brows vs Eyebrow Tattoos
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST?
Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years. Each individual’s colour retention will vary based on skin type, facial products, health and overall lifestyle. On average, to maintain fresh-looking brows, a ‘refresh’ treatment is carried out every 12 months. Without touch-ups, your pigment will eventually fade away.
HD Brows last around 4 to 6 weeks before a touch up is required. However, this will depend on your hair growth, as well as a variety of other factors.
Eyebrow tattoos can last a lifetime. Over time, black ink is known to fade or turn blue or brown. A machine is used to apply the tattoo.
HOW PERMANENT IS THE TREATMENT?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique and consist of two procedures before the final result is achieved. When microblading is performed, strokes and pigment are applied to the surface layer of the skin, therefore making it semi-permanent.
HD Brows are not permanent as the cosmetics used are temporary.
Eyebrow tattoos are permanent as the ink is implanted into the deepest layer of the skin.
What is the Best Eye Brow Solution for me?
Microblading vs HD Brows vs Eyebrow Tattoos
Microblading is most suitable for those looking to define or restructure their brows. This treatment is popular amongst clients that want to cover or fill overplucked eyebrows, have very fair hair, and want their brows defined, or for those suffering from natural hair loss. The PhiBrows technique uses semi-permanent makeup and involves drawing hair strokes with a hand-held tool to achieve hyper-realistic results. These are three times smaller than those used in traditional PMU and are drawn in the direction of the natural hair growth to achieve a natural result. Following the healing process, the pigment can become several hues lighter and will have a softer, realistic appearance. The PhiBrows pigment is also vegan friendly and cruelty-free!!
HD Brows are perfect as a short-term fix and the treatment will need to be repeated every 4-6 weeks. This solution consists of tinting, waxing, threading, and plucking and finishes with a stylist applying High Definition makeup to complete and refine the brow area. HD Brows are the preferred treatment for those with existing brows that require some shaping and definition, as they work with your own eyebrow hairs.
Eyebrow tattoos take seven to 10 days to heal and generally last about 18 months to two years, fading over time. Tattoo ink is implanted into the deepest layer of the skin, making it permanent. Brow tattooing is usually a good idea if you want to create fullness and thickness in the middle of your brow but is not recommended for brow definition. As tattoos are drawn and filled in with a strong ink, they can end up looking quite harsh in time, and just as it is with tattoos, the ink can spread and end up looking thicker.
